PrepareSheet 1 of 10In draft
Do not let your preparation begin with a Nusuk form.
What to do and when, from the moment the intention enters your heart to the week before you fly.
The application is not your preparation. Neither is the payment, and neither is buying an Ihram set.
Hajj begins when Allah places it in your heart, not when the visa is issued. The pilgrims who travel calmly are the ones who started at that point rather than at the airport.
As soon as the intention enters your heart
- Make sincere tawbah. Begin the journey the way you hope to end it.
- Check your passport. Validity well beyond your travel dates, and renewals take time. If renewal is even a question, start it now.
- Create your Nusuk account the moment registration opens — the registration guide walks through it.
- Start saving deliberately, so the payment window does not surprise you. The Real Cost covers what the package does not.
- Begin learning. The rites should feel familiar before you land, not new.
- Start walking. Yes, already. Even twenty minutes a day.
Six months out
Lock the logistics, build the base.
- Complete registration and verification, and know which stage you are actually in.
- Prepare your eWallet before packages launch. Check bank limits now, not at 2 a.m. on launch day.
- Resize your documents to the portal’s small upload limits.
- Compare packages properly — Choosing a Package and Camps & the Mashair.
- See your doctor. Chronic conditions, a vaccination plan, medication documentation.
- Begin the twelve-week walking programme in Physical Preparation.
- Look into travel insurance that genuinely covers Saudi Arabia and pilgrimage travel.
Three months out
Health, knowledge, and the relationships you are bringing with you.
- Get the meningococcal ACWY vaccine if you are not current. It is a condition of entry, not a recommendation — see Health & Heat.
- Confirm the season’s full health requirements against the current Saudi Ministry of Health list.
- Study the rites with a teacher, and know which form of Hajj you are performing.
- Learn the rules of Ihram and which Miqat applies to your route — Ihram & the Miqat.
- Start your Arafah du’a list. Not the morning of Arafah. Now. The builder exists for this.
- Settle debts, write your will if appropriate, and ask people for forgiveness — starting with the difficult ones.
- Buy your footwear now and start wearing it. Every day.
One month out
Pack, organise, and prepare for heat.
- Pack using the packing list — with one Ihram set in your carry-on. Always.
- Organise medications: original packaging, a doctor’s letter, and the supply split between bags.
- Photograph and copy every document, on paper and stored securely offline.
- Sort your phone: roaming or eSIM, offline maps, a Qur’an app, the Nusuk app for Rawdah.
- Train in the heat with your actual bag and your actual shoes.
- Notify your bank, and set aside cash in small denominations.
- Confirm the hady arrangement in your package.
One week out
Everything loud is already done. This week is about protecting your energy.
5
Days of Hajj
They will ask for everything you saved
- Fix your sleep toward your destination schedule.
- Screenshot everything: hotels, group and bus numbers, leader contacts, itinerary.
- Write one phone number on paper. Electricity-free, and the reason is in On the Ground.
- Brief your family at home on the itinerary and on when not to panic.
- Learn the Talbiyah by heart and review the rules of Ihram.
- Rest.
Your countdown
All 33 of them, in the order above. Ticks are kept in this browser — come back whenever, nothing is sent anywhere.
