Where you live decides your route. Not the passport you hold.

Most people arrive at this question with the wrong assumption: that their passport decides how they perform Hajj. It usually does not.

Nusuk’s Direct Hajj Program exists for countries with no official Hajj mission of their own: countries where Muslims are a minority and there is no government body organising pilgrims. For those countries, Nusuk is not one option among several. It is the only sanctioned route, and it is scoped by where you live.

The two questions

Where do you live? This is the one that decides your route. If you reside in a Direct Hajj Program country (the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Australia and many more) you register through Nusuk, in your own account, and there is no alternative path.

Which passport do you hold? This matters for your documents, your visa processing and occasionally for a second route you did not know you had. It does not, by itself, decide whether Nusuk is your path.

When your two answers disagree

If you hold a passport from a country that runs its own Hajj quota (Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Egypt and others) while living in a Direct Hajj Program country, you may have a genuine choice between two systems.

They are not equivalent. They have different application processes, different waiting periods, different costs and different odds. One is not automatically better; it depends on your circumstances, your documents and how long you are willing to wait.

This is worth a conversation rather than a guess. Bring it to the community with both countries named and someone will walk you through the trade-offs.

If your country is not served

Some countries are not part of the Direct Hajj Program, usually because they run their own Hajj mission. If that is you, your route is through that national system rather than through Nusuk, and applying to the wrong one wastes a season.

You are still welcome here. Every guide, every checklist and every tool on this site applies to your Hajj regardless of which system you book through — the rites do not change, the preparation does not change, and neither does the heat in Mina. Only the booking path differs.

What eligibility does not mean

Being eligible means you may register. It does not mean you have a place.

Demand exceeds the quota every year, so places are allocated by selection. That is why the work described in the registration guide matters: a flawless application, verified early, with a funded eWallet, is what you control. The rest is not yours to arrange.
