Breathe. Almost everything on this page has happened to a million Hujjaj before you, and was fine.

I lost my group

1. Stay where you are if you separated moments ago — groups backtrack to the last common point
2. Message the group thread; call your leader
3. No signal? Go to your pre-agreed meeting point, or the nearest landmark your group named
4. Ask security or Hajj volunteers. Show your group ID or wristband — they reunite people all day, every day

During the Mashair days, your camp number is your address. Anyone official can direct you to it.

I lost my hotel

1. Open your screenshots. The hotel name and address should be there — this is why we screenshot
2. Ask any hotel lobby, security officer or taxi to point you toward that hotel or district
3. No screenshots? Call your group leader or a roommate

Going forward: photograph the hotel entrance and the street sign when you first arrive.

I missed the bus

Your bus is not lost, and neither are you. Contact your leader immediately. There are usually later waves, staged departures or alternate pickups.

My phone died

This is why one phone number lives on paper.

Borrow a phone. Hujjaj lend them constantly. Call your leader. For charging: camp outlets (be polite about it), hotel lobbies, and the portable batteries of generous neighbours.

No number written down? Go to your meeting point, or ask volunteers to reach your group via your wristband and camp details.

I feel sick

Tell someone immediately — your roommate, your leader. Do not tough it out quietly.

Heat symptoms — dizziness, nausea, cramps, confusion: stop, get shade, sip water, cool the skin.

If you have a chronic condition, this is why someone in your group knows your situation.

I have a blister

Deal with it now, not after the next walk. Clean it, cover it with a blister plaster, change your socks. Tomorrow has miles in it.

Do not pop deep blisters yourself if you are diabetic or it looks infected — visit a clinic.

I can’t walk to Jamarat

Tell your group leader. Options exist: resting stages, wheelchair services, and the established fiqh of appointing someone to perform Rami on your behalf when you are genuinely unable.

Ask your scholar about deputisation. It is a known, legitimate path, not a failure.

I don’t know which tent is mine

Your camp number and zone are on your group materials or wristband. Show them to any camp official or volunteer.

Mina is organised in numbered zones. It looks identical in every direction, but it is addressable. Photograph your tent number and the nearest street sign on day one.

I lost my Nusuk card or ID

Report it to your group leader right away — they coordinate replacements with the service provider. Your digital records and screenshots carry you meanwhile.

This is why your passport copy lives separately from the original.

I think I made a mistake in my Hajj

Don’t panic. The fiqh of Hajj has answers for nearly every scenario — missed timings, wrong order, broken restrictions. Many carry no penalty at all; others have simple remedies.

Go to your group’s scholar and tell them exactly:

1. What you did or missed
2. When
3. Your Hajj type
4. Whether you were in Ihram at the time

Then follow their guidance, not a forwarded voice note.

Your Hajj is almost certainly not ruined. It rarely is.

Something else went wrong

A bus is late. A meal did not come. A room is not what you pictured. None of this means your Hajj is ruined.

Separate inconvenience from worship. Solve what needs solving, ask for help, and then return your attention to Allah. Do not let a logistical problem occupy the spiritual space you travelled across the world to protect.
