Your registration is only worth what you do on launch day.

The queue, the phases, the shortlist, and what to do in the first ten minutes. The part of the process most people are least prepared for.

Everything up to this point (the account, the documents, the verification, the waiting) puts you in a position to do one thing well. Packages are released for viewing, then sold in phases over several weeks, and the best-located ones go in the first phase.

People who have done everything right still lose a season here, because they treated launch day as an event to attend rather than one to prepare for.

The shape of the season

Dates move every year. The shape has not.

Nothing has opened yet for Hajj 1448 / 2027. Everything below is ahead of you, which is the best position to be in — it is the only point at which you can still get ahead of it.

Dates are set by the Ministry each year and announced on the portal. The shape has been consistent; the timing has not.Reviewed 26 August 2026

Recent seasons opened first viewing around early January, with the first purchasing phase before Ramadan. Registration for Hajj 2026 opened on 7 October 2025, which is the best guide anyone has to the next one.

Three weeks before

Fund the eWallet, and test it. Not “arrange to fund it” — actually move the money and confirm it landed. The two things that stop payments are international transaction permissions and daily transfer limits, and both take days to change.

Raise your card limit if you plan to pay by card. Do it months ahead if you can. A declined card at the moment your phase opens is not recoverable in the five minutes you will have.

Build a shortlist, not a preference. Three packages in order, with the camp, the hotel and the occupancy written down for each. When your phase opens you want to be reading a decision you already made, not making one.

The night before

  • Know your phase. Not everyone buys on the same day. Confirm which window is yours and what time it opens in your own timezone.
  • Log in and stay logged in. Confirm your password works now, while fixing it is free.
  • Screenshot your shortlist. Package names, camp names, room types. You will not want to be searching another tab.
  • Decide your fallback. If your first choice is gone, what do you take? Answer that tonight.
  • One device, wired if possible. Not three tabs on a phone with two bars.

Where the best-located camps go

Expect a queue or waiting room. This is the system working, not failing. Do not refresh — on most queue systems, refreshing costs you your place.

When you get in, buy the package you already decided on. Do not start comparing. Do not open a second tab to check something. The information you needed was gathered weeks ago, and the thing that is scarce right now is not information.

If your first choice has gone, take your fallback. The gap between a first and second choice is almost always smaller than the gap between second choice and nothing.

If you miss your phase

It is not over. Packages are released in batches over several weeks, and cancellations return inventory throughout. What matters is that you are watching when the next batch lands, which is precisely what the community exists for — announcements reach that channel faster than they reach anywhere you would think to check.
